Hello, and welcome to Home Concierge Décor and More!

 

I am Jo DeSanto-Cohen, Owner and Design Consultant. Originally from Ithaca, NY, I moved to the Carolinas in the late 80’s, for brighter days and sunshine, eventually landing in Cape Coral, Florida almost 30 years ago!  In this time, I have been married since 1997 to my handsome husband, Richard and together we raised an amazing, blended family of 4 kids that are now all adults and building their own incredible lives.  I am a very fortunate woman! 

My career started in the Hospitality business - running night clubs, restaurants and bars for the better part of 15 years.  From there, I found myself in the Mortgage industry, owning and managing all aspects of a mortgage business and 13 years later, realized that I no longer enjoyed the work and needed to make a change.  The kind of change where you finally listen to that voice in your head that tells you: “do what you love”.  I took the leap, far removed from my previous careers and opened HCD and More, February 2, 2011.  Knowing that I have a passion and an eye for interior design, I believed that I had something special to offer clients.

 

 The business started slowly, by offering services for Home Watch and Vacation Home Concierge Services, which eventually led to interior décor projects and then exploded into remodeling.  Through the years, I have built solid, loyal relationships with vendors for all areas of home remodeling, while surrounding myself with an excellent, professional team of licensed contractors that seamlessly make the design visions come to life.   

So here I am, absolutely doing what I love!  My clients often tell me that my passion and love for what I do is clearly visible and that’s the best compliment I could ever ask for.  I take much pride in my work ethics, integrity and honesty and in all of my projects no matter the size.  It is extremely important to me that my clients feel comfortable and secure; knowing that I will do whatever it takes to lessen the stress home projects can bring to homeowners, while at the same time making the process as fun and enjoyable as possible for them.
